Optimizing seo is not as difficult as most might think. Although it takes years of experience, and many mistakes, you can get your website to the top of the search engines if you know exactly what to do. Optimizing seo consists of both on page factors, and off page factors that influence where your website appears in a search. Sure there are some search engines that don't even use some on page stuff, but it doesn't hurt to have it implemented into your website.

Things like keywords, title tags, description tags, alt tags, naming of your files, and url all play an important role in how the search engines look at your website. Keyword density, keyword prominence, text links, anchor text, etc... also play a big part. When performing optimizing seo on your website, make sure you consider all of these things first before getting into the off page factors that help rank your website. Optimizing seo requires that you study the search engines along with your competition so that you understand what the search engines are looking for, and what you need to do in order for your website to compete. This is why studying your competitors is also important.

Remember most of your competition on the first page has already done the research and homework for you in order to get there websites to the top, so simply by studying what they have done, and learning how they have implemented these strategies will at least help you get close. Then all you have to do is do a little extra and all of a sudden you start to see your website appear at the top of the search engine listings for your keywords.

Remember optimizing seo is not difficult. It is however time consuming, and requires many hours of labor before you can even start to see results.
